Come Home

You know, no one's perfect. We’ve all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of the Lord, but I have good news for you…that still does not change how much God loves you, nor does that take away your worthiness of salvation. To be quite honest, none of us would be worthy of anything if it weren’t for the grace and mercy of God, it is through His grace that we are made worthy. God has already declared you and every other human being on this earth worthy enough to obtain the promise of salvation when He allowed the sacrifice of His only begotten son. So, who are you to tell God anything different through your actions? Tonight God gave me an interesting vision. The question arose, “Why choose to live contrary to the word of God when fully aware of what life after death would warrant?”, and an answer came shortly after, “Some feel as if all they’re deserving of is hell, they don’t feel like salvation is their portion.”

I’ve spoken of this before, conviction vs. condemnation. We must recognize the difference. See through condemnation many are caused to hide from the Lord, they feel shameful and unworthy of forgiveness, but that is a lie from the pits of hell! Whenever your actions are followed by condemnation, know that that is NOT from God, for He does not condemn those He loves, and He loves us all, He only allows for us to experience conviction. I like to think of conviction as Holy Spirit implanted, and it leads to correction out of love. Conviction allows you to see the error of your ways and encourages you to make changes for the better.

I say all this to say that the reason you feel unworthy of salvation is because you’re experiencing condemnation, NOT conviction. I need you to reject those feelings today, and grab ahold of the promise of salvation. Repent, and turn away! You believe, yet you feel so far from what could be, I’m here to tell you that God knew you’d be right where you are before you even got here, and He’s waiting for you to come home. He wants you to know that from before you were even thought of, or wiggling around in you mother’s womb, He found you worthy enough of His salvation. Jesus laid down His life for YOU! He left His Holy Spirit for YOU! To guide you, to strengthen you, and to comfort you. Lean into that today. Don’t reject what has been freely given for your sake. Know that you are loved beyond your understanding, come home.

Scripture to reflect on:

Luke 15:31 & 32

The Parable of the Lost son (Read Luke 15:11-32 for the full parable)

31) “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32) But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

John 3:17

17) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him

Romans 3:21-26

Righteousness Through Faith

21) But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22) This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24) and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25) God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26) he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Romans 8:1 & 2

Life Through the Spirit

1) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2) because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
