Delay

I’m learning that when God allows delay, it is necessary. Many of us, if not all of us, have experienced delay regarding the promises God has given us. I know first hand that when you’re in obedience, delay can cause you to wonder if somewhere along the way you’ve gone wrong. Though it sounds harsh, I like to say, “It’s not about you”…it’s about the bigger picture.

When God gives you a promise, best believe its fulfillment will ultimately bring glory to His name, consequently aiding in the building up of His kingdom on earth. So, the delay is not meant for punishment, though it may sometimes feel like it, but instead it’s meant for development. When God feels that you are ready to receive whatever it is you are waiting for, you will be in a place where you can steward well over it. Such maturity will allow you to experience full joy accompanied by the promise,  ultimately shedding light on the all powerful promise keeping God, and inevitably attracting more lost souls to Him.

I know it doesn’t always feel good, but remember, your faith today will serve as an open door for those who are embarking on similar journeys behind you. As the Lord continues to elevate you, many will want to know of the God who can perform such miracles.

Today, think of the bigger picture. Remain faithful & hopeful, and always remember, we serve a promise keeping God.

Isaiah 60:22

“…When the time is right, I, THE LORD, will come quickly, I will make these things happen.”

Ezekiel 12:28

“Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”
