The Table Pt.1

So today I watched a video on Instagram. There was a little boy who seemed to have been homeless. He sat alone at a table in a restaurant. There was a lady sitting across from him enjoying a meal, but once she became full, she walked off leaving food left over on her plate. Noticing she was finished, the little boy went to where the lady had been sitting and was going to finish off what she left behind; her leftovers. A waiter watched as the child was about to start eating the food, and immediately walked over and took the plate from him. As you may imagine, the child was disappointed, he dropped his head and got up from the table. As he began to walk away, he ran into the same waiter who was returning to the table the boy had left, but this time with a full plate of fresh food for him. The waiter ushered the boy back to the seat so he could eat.

Instantly, I knew God was trying to show me something through this video. As we take this journey with Christ there are some things and or people who must be removed from our lives in order for us to receive more. At times this removal process can feel lonely and or disappointing, leaving us unsure of our devotion to Christ, but God wants you to know that it is because of your devotion that you must separate from the old, so that He may usher in the new. Your devotion to God’s will and God’s way has warranted a new thing! The removal process is making room for what He has for you. It is also protecting you from what will not and cannot bear good fruit in your life. They or it must go! God loves you too much to let you settle for half of a friend, half of a romantic partner, or half of a home. He wants to give you the “whole enchilada”, and more!

Being unaware of the plans God has for us due to the confusing and lonely process of separation, sometimes causes many of us to leave the table too soon out of disappointment. If we would just trust in the God that we serve, and wait a little while longer, we’d find that all along, though we could not see or perceive what was in the works, He was preparing so much more than we thought we deserved.

“IT’S TIME TO EAT!”

P.S-

If this is for you allow God to be you final confirmation. We are all in different season of our lives. Love y’all!

Scripture to reflect on:

Isaiah 43:19

19) Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 55:8-9

8) "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. 9) "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
