The Call

Live a life worthy of the call on your life. I’ve said this before, but today it hit a little harder. I’m realizing that the areas where we’ve struggled or still struggle may be the areas we’re called to in ministry. I learned that it is through our struggles that we are able to approach the ministry God has called us to with humility because of experiential understanding. For instance, Jesus was for a little while made lower than the angels for our sake, and because He experienced what we experience daily, He understands how hard it is for us to live righteously here on earth. Now, He sits at the right hand of the Father advocating for all of us, whom He refers to as His brothers and sisters. It is because He’s been “there” that it makes His ministry here on earth even after death that much stronger. It’s something about following a leader who’s been where you are, who truly understands from experience. Jesus serves as the literal perfect example of how we should resist temptation for the sake of the call on our lives. He’s a perfect example of how important it is to live lives worthy of the call on our lives despite the temptations we’re faced with daily.

Imagine if Jesus had given in to the schemes of the enemy, humanity would’ve been doomed. Now imagine you giving in to the schemes of the enemy, and picture the countless lost souls connected to you remaining lost because you chose to live a life unworthy of the call on your life. When it comes to those who are connected to me for a time, I imagine everything has come to an end, prophecy is fulfilled, and Jesus has come back. Then I imagine that those same people are who God placed in my proximity to help, and because of my failure to answer the call, they say to me, “why didn’t Krystal tell me?”.

This is why when God leads me to, I try not to neglect telling people about Jesus. I think this way regarding my lifestyle as well. I respect a teacher who practices what they preach, so I aim to be a teacher who does just that, even behind closed doors. The way you live is a form of ministry as well, never forget that. Regardless of your knowing, people are watching your every move. Some seek to pin point your faults, while others are just genuinely curious. It’s important to live right for the sake of those who are sent to you, and most importantly to please God. Living a life worthy of the call on your life is practicing what you believe, because many believe, yet fail to live according to those beliefs.

This went a lot deeper than I expected, where I intended on going had everything to do with the struggles we face daily, and little about evangelism and ministry. In short, look at your struggles in a different light today, you’re battling with this thing because when God gives you the victory, through your testimony, God will attract and save people who are going through or have been through what you have. Your victory is your testimony. Many experience trials, but not everyone gets the victory through Jesus. God is about to make you a walking testimony. A walking trophy.

Scripture to reflect on:

Ephesians 4:1:

1) As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received

Hebrew 2:9-13:

9) But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

10) In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. 11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.

12") He says,

“I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters;
    in the assembly I will sing your praises.”

13) And again,

“I will put my trust in him.”

And again he says,

“Here am I, and the children God has given me.”

Hebrew 4:14:

14) Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[f] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16) Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
